Macro Generator

Hi
I am creating macros in MacGen but unfortunately it does not work correctly in Patternmaker. I have tried to supply an mmt with the macro that should open when PM is run. I have tried this in two ways.
Creating the mmt in the macro that I think of using. The measurements in the mmt file should therefor be exactly the same as the ones used in the macro. But it does not work.
Creating a separate mmt file in another MacroGen file and then import it into the macro. This doesnot work either.
The PM file created should ask for a mbt file and if that is skipped it should prompt for measures from the mmt. But it does neither.
What is wrong?
Sincerely
Michael

Michael,
is your table locked?
And have you clicked the measurements in the table at the right side in the little square?

Hi Heidi
Yes it is locked and I have checked all the little boxes many times over but without result...
Probably it is something simple I am doing wrong.

Michael,
I give you an adress. Here I have stored a little macro with all its files. Try if they run.
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/b97nq94556v3nkk,d6raph0a8vai7ii,f973uc8d1t0jim5,5tqf4dzxcjb4i4u,6fl989vay51larv/shared
It is .mg4 a .mac the .mmt and an .mtb It is a skirt.
There are more measuremnents then the macro uses. You see this in the mg4. It uses the taille (waist) and the skirt length (Rocklänge). It is saved so it has a .mmt and all the measures are clicked.
The mmt and mtb you should do in my documents/patternmaker/personalfiles/measure tables.
The mac and mg4 into my documents/pattern/maker/personal files/designers

Hi Heidi
Thanks for your help. Your program works perfectly. I am quite new to this program. One thing came to mind when I read your email and ran the program. You told me to put the files in special folders. I have been running the program from my own folders and it has worked when working only in MacGen. The problem has come when switching to PM. Can the folders be part of the problem?
Sincerely
Michael

Yes, it could. PM looks in certain files if you open a macro and the measure files should always be in measure files otherwise he can not found them

Hi again Stofftante!
I have not had the time to look at this closely again until now. All the different files are in the right folders and so on. Now it prompts for the .mtb, so thats a step forward! But unfortunately it still doesnt ask for the measurements in a dialog box. Something else I am doing wrong? I can send you the files if wanted. But I rather not post the files here.
Appreciates every little bit of help with this problem!
Thank you
Michael

Well, I can't put pics into here.
I'll give you my personal address so you can send your file over
Have you saved and named a table in MacGen?
Only if you have done a mmt you can do a mtb.

Yes, I have done an mmt for the macro, checked the boxes and also erased the PM file made and made a new one after creating the mmt so it might make go around any old mmt I have don in the past.
What I can do if I want mtb is that I choose Create measurements and choose the mmt and therefrom create an mtb. Can it be something wrong with how I have done the different pieces in the MG?
Whats your adress?

Do you find the .mmt in its place? /measure tables in my documents.
No it has nothing to do with the pieces. I think you have mist a little thing in the procedure.
How I create a mmt in MacGen
When I start I first create the measurement table with all the measurements I will prompt in.
Because I alter much going along with the macro development I add or erase some of the prompted measurements I wait to do a .mmt till I'm finished.
Finished I check each of measurements I want to have in my prompted table. I give my table a name. Then I save it. When it is saved it is automatical locked. But this can be undone later - no fear.
To see if this runs you do a new file and import your saved measure table into the new file. You will have all the checked measurements now in the new file. This is extremely handy because you need not always do new mmt.
Now I'm ready to do a mtb in PM.
When you do a macro with this mmt but you have another measurement (say a stretch factor for knits) which must be typed in too you can add it without checking it and it will be called separetley. And you have the ability for style dependent measurements.
