I have used patternmaker since the 1990s, when Leena was still actively working on this. I have corresponded with Eugenie and am still trying to figure out the difference in capability between patternmaker delux, macrogen, and professional studio. I have been teaching myself paternmaking with Lori Knowles books and Armstrong books and the open source Seamly2d (formerly valentina) software. I once saw detailed descriptions of the functions in each level of patternmaker which I can no longer find. Until the last few months, I was content to use the free editor and the premade macros from Make your own clothes book and DVD.

I am trying to decide whether to buy patternmaker delux or macrogen or even professional studio. I do not wish to spend the money to buy both professional studio and macrogen . Once upon a time I was offered 30 days free trial on all levels of patternmaker. Now I can't seem to get a free trial on even the delux editor.

Can someone point me to a detailed list of the features of patternmaker delux vs professional studio?

I have downloaded the Basic Viewer and installed it but I see no way to register and receive a 30 day free trial of anything.

What I am specifically interested is understanding the differences between deluxe editor and professional studio.

I received 3 emails from you as a result of my "order" for the free basic viewer, but none has a serial number. Whan I opened the patternmaker program, I found (under settings) the option to register, but it requires a serial number. The quickstart manual indicates that I should get a serial number that specifically enables a free trial. How do I get a serial number?

Hello here is a link to download the 30-day trial. Please download and install. You do not need to register it. It comes as a working trial version. The serial number comes with the paid versions.

I have patternmaker free version installed already. I never took advantage of a free trial version. For whatever reason, reinstalling from the link you gave makes absolutely no difference. I do not have a free trial. I am going to take a chance and buy the deluxe editor and hope that it will come with a serial number and the features I need. If it does not, I will have more questions before I would be willing to pay $300+ on the chance that your professional studio would work for me.
